The Graduate School invites graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and faculty from all disciplines to join us for an informal panel discussion and reception with Kenyon College faculty in the Recreation and Physical Activity Center, Meeting Rooms 2 and 3, on Thursday, May 14, 2009, from 3 - 4:30 p.m. Professors from representative fields in the Arts, Sciences, and Humanities will discuss answers to questions such as: •How is life as a faculty member at a liberal arts college different than at a large public research university? •What types of resources and support are available for conducting research in a small college environment? •What constitutes “fit” and how important is it in the hiring and tenure processes? •Are students at a prominent liberal arts college different than Ohio State students? •How can one conduct a successful job search that targets smaller schools? Audience members will have the opportunity to meet the panelists, ask questions and join in the discussion. |
