Graduate and Professional Student Survey
Patrick S. Osmer — May 16, 2012

Approximately every two years, the Graduate School collaborates with the Office of Institutional Research to survey graduate and professional students about their experiences while at Ohio State. That survey is out now, and I encourage all graduate students to complete it. The survey covers academic, teaching, and research experiences. It also addresses services—including professional and career development services—that they may encounter while they are here.
We rely upon this information to make the graduate student experience at Ohio State better. This year, I will be paying particular attention to graduate student feedback about career services and professional development. This is in connection with the national career pathways report that came out last month.
Graduate students can access the survey by looking for either of two emails from me that they should have received over the past two weeks. If graduate students have questions, they should contact Sheila Craft-Morgan in the Office of Institutional Research and Planning, 292-1311 or craft-morgan.1@osu.edu. Graduate students are also welcome to share their perspectives here or via email.
Patrick S. Osmer is vice provost for graduate studies and dean of the Graduate School at Ohio State. He is currently serving as past chair of the board of directors for the Council of Graduate Schools. Osmer was chair of the Ohio State astronomy department from 1993-2006.
